Motorola Moto G47 Full Review & Our Opinion

The Motorola Moto G47 is part of Motorola’s budget-friendly G-series, designed for users who want a stylish smartphone with dependable performance at an affordable price. Positioned below higher-end models, it focuses on delivering a smooth everyday experience rather than pushing top-tier specs.

Overview

The Moto G47 combines a modern design, a smooth high-refresh-rate display, and a reliable battery with a mid-range processor. It’s built for students, casual users, and anyone who needs a dependable phone for daily tasks like browsing, streaming, and social media.

Design & Display

Motorola continues its clean and minimal design approach with the Moto G47. The device feels comfortable in hand and looks more premium than its price suggests.

It features a large 6.67-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and better responsiveness. While it uses an IPS LCD panel instead of AMOLED, colors are still vibrant enough for watching videos and everyday use. Brightness is decent, though not the best under direct sunlight.

Performance

The Moto G47 is powered by a mid-range chipset such as the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 (or a similar processor depending on region), paired with 8GB of RAM.

For daily usage—like messaging, browsing, YouTube, and light multitasking—the performance is smooth and reliable. However, it’s not designed for heavy gaming or intensive apps. You may notice frame drops in demanding titles or when pushing the device too hard.

Camera

The phone typically comes with a 108MP main camera along with a depth or macro sensor, plus a front-facing camera for selfies.

In good lighting conditions, the main camera captures decent detail with natural colors. It performs well for casual photography and social media sharing. However, low-light performance is limited, and the extra sensors don’t add much real value.

The selfie camera is adequate for video calls and occasional selfies, but it doesn’t stand out.

Battery & Charging

One of the strengths of the Moto G47 is its battery life. With a 5200mAh battery, it easily lasts a full day on moderate usage.

Charging speeds are modest, typically around 18W which means it takes longer to fully charge compared to some competitors offering faster charging solutions.

Software Experience

The Motorola Moto G47 runs on Android 16 or later, featuring Motorola’s near-stock Android experience. This is one of its biggest advantages—clean UI, minimal bloatware, and smooth navigation.

Motorola also includes useful features like gesture controls, a customizable interface, and a generally lightweight software experience that keeps the phone running efficiently.

Our Opinion

The Motorola Moto G47 is a solid entry-level to mid-range smartphone that gets the basics right. It offers a smooth display, clean software, and excellent battery life—all of which are important for everyday users.

However, it doesn’t excel in performance or camera quality, and the LCD display may feel like a compromise compared to AMOLED panels found in some competing devices.

Final Verdict:
If you want a reliable, no-nonsense smartphone with clean software and long battery life, the Moto G47 is a good choice. But if you’re looking for better gaming performance, faster charging, or a more premium display, you may want to explore other options in the same price range.
