Here’s when Samsung is launching its tri-fold smartphone

Samsung is nearly ready to take on Huawei’s tri-fold Mate XT. We’ve already heard that the Korean company is working on a device that unfolds in a unique way, safeguarding the flexible screen when folded.

The device is reported to be limited to roughly 200,000 units, and a fresh rumor from Korea reveals when we might expect it to be released. It will supposedly come in the third quarter of the year, perhaps between July and September.

Here's when Samsung is launching its tri-fold smartphone

This schedule coincides well with Samsung’s annual foldable device debut, thus the tri-fold gadget might be released in July alongside the next Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 models. Production for the tri-fold device is scheduled to begin in the second quarter, between April and June. The device’s screen will extend to a size of 9.9″ to 10″.

Samsung will debut four foldable smartphones this year, including the Galaxy Z Flip FE. According to the new source, the Galaxy Z Fold7’s digitizer would most likely be deleted, presumably to make it thinner, as Samsung has lately lost the thinness battle in foldables to Chinese competitors such as Honor with its Magic V3.

While it is unclear what chipset the tri-fold will utilize, we have heard that the Fold7 and Flip7 may use the Exynos 2500, which did not make it into the Galaxy S25 family due to yield concerns, while the Flip FE may use the Exynos 2400e to save money.
