Samsung Galaxy A18 Full Review

The Samsung Galaxy A18 is Samsung’s latest addition to its Galaxy A series, officially introduced as the successor to the Galaxy A17 LTE. Samsung announced the Galaxy A18 LTE on September 15, 2026, focusing on an upgraded processor, a 90Hz Super AMOLED display, a triple-camera setup, improved durability, and long-term software support. The phone combines a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with an Exynos 1610 chipset, a 5,000mAh battery, and a 50MP primary camera.

Samsung has positioned the Galaxy A18 as a device for everyday users who want a large AMOLED screen, dependable performance, versatile cameras, and extended software support without moving into the company’s flagship range. Storage configurations vary by market, with Samsung officially listing 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB options, while RAM configurations can also differ by region.

Design & Display

The Samsung Galaxy A18 has a slim body measuring 164.4 × 77.9 × 7.7 mm and weighs 196 grams. Its design is relatively simple and practical, while the slim 7.7mm profile helps the phone maintain a modern appearance. Samsung lists Black, Silver, and Light Blue color options, although availability can vary depending on the market.

One of the main highlights is the 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display. It offers a 2340 × 1080 FHD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, providing a spacious viewing area for videos, social media, browsing, and everyday applications. Samsung’s official announcement confirms a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, which should make scrolling and general screen interactions feel smoother than a conventional 60Hz panel.

The display also uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the front. Samsung combines the screen with a U-Cut design and a slim body, giving the Galaxy A18 a familiar Galaxy A-series appearance while maintaining a relatively lightweight visual profile.

Performance

Powering the Samsung Galaxy A18 is Samsung’s Exynos 1610 chipset. Samsung says the new hardware provides improvements compared with the Galaxy A16, including a 32% increase in CPU single-core performance, 7% higher CPU multi-core performance, and 7% higher GPU performance according to its stated testing.

The phone also uses LPDDR5 memory and supports Samsung’s RAM Plus feature. Depending on the market and configuration, Galaxy A18 models are available with different RAM and storage combinations, with Samsung listing 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB memory variants as well as 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage options. RAM Plus can use part of the internal storage as virtual memory to help keep more applications active in the background.

For everyday tasks such as browsing, messaging, video streaming, social networking, and switching between applications, the Exynos 1610 gives the Galaxy A18 a more modern performance platform than its predecessor. It is primarily designed around everyday use rather than flagship-level gaming performance.

Storage expansion is another useful feature. The Galaxy A18 supports a microSD card of up to 2TB, although the exact SIM and storage configuration can vary by market.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy A18 comes with a triple rear-camera system consisting of a 50MP wide-angle main camera, a 5MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The primary camera has autofocus and an f/1.8 aperture, while the ultrawide and macro cameras use f/2.2 and f/2.4 apertures respectively. Samsung does not list optical image stabilization for the rear camera.

The 50MP main sensor is designed for everyday photography, while the 5MP ultrawide camera provides a wider perspective for landscapes, buildings, and group shots. The 2MP macro camera is intended for close-up photography where capturing smaller subjects from a short distance is useful.

For selfies and video calls, the Galaxy A18 features a 13MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera system can record video at up to 1080p at 30 frames per second, while HD slow-motion recording is supported at 120fps.

Overall, the camera hardware is aimed at versatility rather than advanced flagship photography. The inclusion of an ultrawide camera alongside the high-resolution main sensor gives users more flexibility when shooting different types of scenes.

Battery & Charging

The Samsung Galaxy A18 is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, giving it the capacity expected from a modern mid-range Samsung smartphone. Samsung says the battery is designed to support a full day of everyday usage, although actual battery life naturally varies depending on network conditions, display settings, applications, gaming, and other usage patterns.

The phone supports 25W fast charging, allowing the battery to be replenished more quickly than standard low-power charging solutions. Samsung notes that the charger is sold separately in at least some markets, so buyers should check what is included with their particular retail package.

Software Experience

The Samsung Galaxy A18 comes with Samsung’s modern Galaxy software experience and One UI 9. The interface brings Samsung’s familiar design, Galaxy ecosystem integration, Quick Share, Smart Switch, and other Samsung services to the device. Samsung also highlights Circle to Search with Google as one of the phone’s smart features, allowing users to search content displayed on the screen by circling it. Availability of some AI and connected features can vary according to country, language, device configuration, and software version.

Long-term software support is one of the more notable aspects of the Samsung Galaxy A18. Samsung states that the phone is eligible for up to six generations of OS upgrades and up to six years of security updates from its first global launch date. The Samsung product page lists security support through October 31, 2032 for the referenced model.

The phone also includes Samsung Knox Vault security features on supported configurations, providing additional protection for sensitive information. This makes the Galaxy A18 more attractive to users who place importance on long-term software and security support.

Durability & Extra Features

Durability has received attention in the Samsung Galaxy A18. Samsung lists an IP64 rating, meaning the device is protected against dust and water splashes under the specified laboratory conditions. However, this does not mean the phone is waterproof, and Samsung specifically advises against using it at beaches or swimming pools. Water and dust resistance can also decrease over time through normal wear.

The front of the phone uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3, while Samsung’s announcement also highlights a glass-fiber-reinforced polymer construction for improved durability. The phone includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C connectivity, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, dual-SIM support, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Samsung has also included practical ecosystem features such as Quick Share and Smart Switch, allowing Galaxy users to transfer files and move data between compatible devices more conveniently.

Our Opinion

The Samsung Galaxy A18 brings together several features that make it a well-rounded Galaxy A-series smartphone. Its 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display and 90Hz refresh rate give it a strong multimedia-focused setup, while the Exynos 1610 provides an updated performance platform for everyday applications. The 50MP main camera, ultrawide lens, 5,000mAh battery, and 25W charging further strengthen its everyday usability.

Another significant advantage is Samsung’s software-support commitment. Up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates give the Galaxy A18 a longer official support window than many budget-oriented smartphones. The IP64 rating and Gorilla Glass 3 also add useful protection for normal daily use.

At the same time, buyers should keep expectations realistic. The phone does not offer flagship-level camera hardware, optical image stabilization, stereo speakers, or Samsung DeX. Samsung’s official specifications also confirm that the rear camera does not have OIS and that stereo support is not included.

Final Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy A18 is a balanced Galaxy A-series smartphone built around a large 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, Exynos 1610 performance, a 50MP triple-camera system, a 5,000mAh battery, and 25W charging. Its IP64 protection, expandable storage, Circle to Search, Knox security features, and long-term software support make the overall package particularly focused on everyday reliability and longevity.

Samsung officially announced the Samsung Galaxy A18 LTE on September 15, 2026. In Sweden, Samsung announced starting prices of SEK 3,290 for the 128GB model and SEK 5,190 for the 256GB model, with availability and configurations varying by market. Since Samsung’s official pricing is market-specific, a Bangladesh price should be confirmed separately before publishing one as an official figure.
