Vivo Y600i Full Review
The Vivo Y600i is a new 5G smartphone from Vivo aimed at users who prioritize long battery life, durability, a large display, and dependable everyday performance. It comes with an 8000mAh battery, 44W fast charging, a 120Hz LCD display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, and IP68/IP69 protection.
The phone was officially announced on September 25, 2026, and went on sale in China on September 30. The international and Bangladesh availability may vary by market.
Design & Display
The Vivo Y600i has a large body designed around durability and battery endurance. It measures approximately 169.6 × 79.2 × 8.7mm and weighs around 229 grams, making it noticeably heavier than many conventional mid-range smartphones. The phone uses a glass front with a plastic frame and plastic rear panel.
One of the biggest highlights is its 6.87-inch LCD display. The panel has a 720 × 1592 pixel resolution and supports a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling through social media, browsing websites, and navigating the interface feel more responsive. The display can reach up to around 1300 nits of brightness, while Diamond Shield Glass provides additional protection.
For users who prefer a large screen, the Y600i offers plenty of viewing space. However, the HD+ resolution is one area where the phone falls behind some similarly priced devices that offer sharper Full HD+ or AMOLED panels.
Durability is another major selling point. The Vivo Y600i carries IP68 and IP69 dust and water-resistance ratings and is designed to withstand drops from around 1.4 meters. This makes it particularly interesting for users who want a more rugged everyday smartphone.
Performance
Under the hood, the Vivo Y600i is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset built on a 4nm process. The octa-core platform combines two performance cores clocked up to 2.2GHz with six efficiency cores running at up to 1.95GHz, paired with an Adreno 613 GPU.
The phone comes with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage in the currently listed configuration. Storage is based on UFS 2.2, and a microSD card slot provides additional expansion.
In everyday use, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 should be suitable for calling, messaging, social media, web browsing, video streaming, and other common tasks. It is not positioned as a gaming-focused smartphone, so users looking for high-end gaming performance should consider a more powerful chipset.
The Y600i also supports 5G connectivity, making it more future-ready for users in areas where compatible 5G networks are available.
Camera
For photography, the Vivo Y600i features a 50MP primary rear camera with PDAF. The main camera is accompanied by LED flash and supports features such as HDR and panorama. Video recording is available at up to 1080p at 30 frames per second.
On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera capable of recording 1080p video. The camera setup is relatively simple compared with camera-focused Vivo smartphones, but it should be adequate for everyday photography, video calls, and social media.
The 50MP main camera should perform best in good lighting conditions. However, users who expect advanced zoom, dedicated ultra-wide photography, or flagship-level night photography will find the Y600i’s camera system fairly basic.
Battery & Charging
Battery life is arguably the strongest feature of the Vivo Y600i. The smartphone packs a massive 8000mAh battery, which is considerably larger than the batteries found in many mainstream smartphones.
With such a large capacity, the Y600i is designed for users who spend long hours browsing, watching videos, using social media, or traveling without regular access to a charger.
Vivo also includes 44W wired fast charging, helping reduce the time required to recharge the large battery. The phone supports reverse wired charging as well, allowing it to provide power to compatible accessories or other devices when needed.
Software Experience
The Vivo Y600i runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6. This gives the phone Vivo’s latest software interface, along with the usual customization options and system features associated with OriginOS.
The combination of Android 16 and OriginOS 6 gives the Y600i a modern software foundation. Its 120Hz display should also complement the interface by providing smoother animations and scrolling.
Durability & Extra Features
Durability is a major part of the Y600i’s identity. The phone’s IP68/IP69 protection provides strong resistance against dust and water, while its drop-resistance design adds another layer of protection for everyday use.
Connectivity options include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB Type-C, and infrared support. The phone also features a side-mounted capacitive fingerprint sensor for biometric security.
There is no 3.5mm headphone jack, and NFC is not included according to current specifications.
Our Opinion
The Vivo Y600i is an interesting smartphone because it focuses heavily on battery life and durability rather than raw performance or premium display quality. The 8000mAh battery is its biggest advantage, while IP68/IP69 protection makes it more reassuring for users who regularly use their phone outdoors.
The 120Hz refresh rate is also a welcome feature, although the 720p LCD resolution is less impressive for a phone in this price range. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is capable of handling everyday tasks, but it is not the right choice for demanding gaming.
The camera system is another area where the Y600i takes a practical approach. Its 50MP main camera can handle normal photography, but this phone is clearly designed more around endurance and durability than photography.
Final Verdict
The Vivo Y600i is a strong option for users who want a smartphone with an exceptionally large battery, smooth 120Hz display, 5G connectivity, and serious water and dust resistance. Its 8000mAh battery and IP68/IP69 protection make it stand out from many conventional mid-range smartphones.
However, the 720p LCD display, modest Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, and basic camera setup may make the phone less attractive to users who prioritize display sharpness, gaming performance, or photography.
Overall, the Vivo Y600i is best suited to users who value long battery endurance, durability, and reliable everyday performance over flagship-level specifications.
