In recent weeks, various reports have surfaced regarding Apple’s impending iPhone 18 Pro series. The latest rumor promises to reveal the iPhone 18 Pro Max’s battery capacity.
In a Weibo post, tipster Digital Chat Station reports that the iPhone 18 Pro Max would have a 5,000mAh (or larger) battery in China.
Meanwhile, the international edition is reported to have a slightly larger battery, most likely between 5,100 and 5,200mAh. The tipster believes that the phone’s battery life will be better thanks to the new 2nm A20 Pro chipset.
The difference in battery capacity is due to the China-specific model’s physical SIM slot, whilst most international models would only have eSIM. For perspective, the iPhone 17 Pro Max with a physical SIM slot has a 4,832mAh battery, while the eSIM edition has a slightly larger 5,088mAh cell.
Apple is slated to reveal the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in September, skipping the ordinary iPhone 18 models, which is a significant change from its usual launch approach.
